VENICE REIMAGINED: A NIGHT AT PALAZZO GIUSTINIAN LOLIN
During this year’s Architecture Biennale, the historic Palazzo Giustinian Lolin opened its doors once again—transforming into a dynamic haven for artists, designers, and visionaries from across the globe.
Founded in 2019 by @vdecotiis and Claudia Rose Decotiis, the foundation inhabits a restored 15th-century palazzo, where timeworn frescoes meet the radical presence of contemporary masters. Works by Anne Imhof, Hans Hartung, and Markus Lüpertz unfold alongside De Cotiis’ own pieces in a silent yet powerful dialogue between eras.
As the sun dipped beyond the Grand Canal, the palazzo’s salons came alive. Beneath the watchful gaze of Jean Raoux’s monumental paintings, guests exchanged thoughts on the Biennale, immersed in conversation, light, and the shifting reflections of Venice at dusk.
An evening suspended between heritage and experimentation — where architecture becomes both subject and setting.

THE SEA AS A CONTEMPORARY LOFT
This yacht interior was conceived as a single, uninterrupted gesture — a contemporary loft floating on water. Spaces dissolve into one another in a continuous, open-plan layout that redefines the idea of onboard living.
Traditional divisions are abandoned in favor of fluidity: wood, steel, and soft fabrics move seamlessly from one area to the next. The result is an architectural rhythm that feels both expansive and intimate.
In collaboration with @barone_italia , bespoke oxidized brass elements and sculptural metalworks punctuate the space. The spiral staircase, wrapped in textured brass, becomes a luminous core — part artwork, part structure.
On the upper deck, nature and design merge. Petal-like bronze tables reflect the light and rhythm of the sea, extending the aesthetic beyond the walls.

A NEW VISION OF MILANESE ELEGANCE
Framing the gothic silhouette of the Duomo, this project redefines urban sophistication through a precise interplay of structure, texture, and light.
The spatial language is bold yet essential: sculpted natural stone forms a staircase of monumental clarity, while oxidized brass panels — developed in close collaboration with Barone Italia — introduce a living patina that reacts to every shift in light, adding depth and tension.
Material choices are deliberate and refined: mineral hues, velvety textures, and mirrored surfaces create a calibrated balance between warmth and austerity. Artworks and sculptural accents punctuate the space, anchoring it in a continuum of memory and modernity.
Double-height volumes and floor-to-ceiling glazing amplify perspective, transforming the Duomo into more than a view — into a permanent presence, a sacred geometry woven into everyday life.
This is not simply a home. It is an architectural statement — composed, silent, and unerringly Milanese.

A NEW VISION OF MILANESE ELEGANCE
Overlooking the soaring spires of Milan’s Duomo, my latest project redefines the essence of contemporary urban living with architectural rigor and material poetry.
The design pivots on a calibrated orchestration of noble elements: sculpted natural stone shaping the monolithic staircase, and custom oxidized brass panels — crafted in collaboration with Barone Italia — creating theatrical backdrops where light fractures and multiplies.
The geometry is sharp, the palette restrained: mineral tones meet the shimmering patina of brass, while curated sculptural pieces ground the interiors in a timeless artistic memory.
Floor-to-ceiling windows, mirrored planes, and double-height spaces amplify perspectives, turning the Duomo into a living artwork within the home.
This is not just a residence with a view — it is a manifesto of understated luxury, a bold and silent reflection of Milan’s contemporary soul.

TIMELESS ELEGANCE: A CONTEMPORARY VISION IN MILAN
I am thrilled to share my latest interior design project, a tribute to the delicate balance between contemporary refinement and the timeless allure of Milanese architecture.
This space embodies a sophisticated dialogue between materiality and light: the raw essence of travertine contrasts with the iridescent reflections of meticulously crafted metal surfaces and furniture by @barone_italia while the enveloping softness of @vibieffe ’s sofas and beds instills a sense of warmth and hospitality, transforming the interior into a sanctuary of enduring elegance.
Every detail has been carefully curated to orchestrate a seamless visual and sensory harmony, enhancing the natural interplay between past and future, heritage and innovation. Light glides over surfaces, unveiling unexpected nuances and sculpting volumes with an aesthetic that transcends fleeting trends.
This project is not merely an interpretation of space but an emotional narrative—an immersive experience where design becomes language and vision.

A CONTEMPORARY MASTERPIECE IN HISTORIC MILAN
In the heart of Milan, architect and designer Vincenzo De Cotiis has transformed a historic Baroque palazzo into a stunning example of contemporary minimalism, redefining urban luxury.
The three-story building, originally constructed between the 16th and 17th centuries by the Mazenta family, boasts an elegant and austere façade with eight openings per floor and a low arched entry supported by granite abutments.
Over the centuries, it has served various purposes, including a residence for the Prinetti family and later as a convent for the Sisters of St. Marcellina. In the mid-20th century, it functioned as a hotel and restaurant.
When De Cotiis discovered the apartment, it had lost much of its original character due to numerous alterations. He chose to completely renovate the interiors, focusing on preserving the atmosphere and historical essence through the use of materials that evoke the building’s storied past.
The result is a harmonious blend of ancient walls and new visions, where sophisticated material interplay creates an elegant urban sanctuary that transcends time.

LAST CALL FOR NOMAD ST. MORITZ 2025: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN ART, DESIGN, AND CONTEXT
As NOMAD St. Moritz 2025 comes to a close, it leaves behind a reflection on the ever-evolving dialogue between art, design, and space. Set in the former Klinik Gut, this edition once again demonstrated how collectible design and contemporary art can engage with architecture and environment in unexpected ways.
Unlike traditional fairs, NOMAD fosters a sense of intimacy and contemplation. The curated selection of 31 galleries and 14 special projects highlighted the power of materiality, craftsmanship, and spatial storytelling. Some pieces stood out for their quiet minimalism, others for their bold theatricality, but all contributed to a conversation that transcends disciplines and geographies.
What remains after @nomadcircle is not just the memory of exhibited works but the way they interacted with their Alpine setting, proving that design is not just about objects—it’s about experience, context, and atmosphere.

More than just a hotel, The Manner is a tribute to New York’s layered architectural and social history, reinterpreted through an Italian lens. Hannes Peer has created not just a place to stay, but a home away from home—one that celebrates bold design, art, and timeless craftsmanship.

SCULPTURAL ELEGANCE IN CONTEMPORARY SPACES
The Arkos Round table by @sovetitalia becomes the focal point of an interior where light, reflection, and materiality intertwine in perfect harmony. Its brushed brass legs, evoking organic fluidity, echo the golden tones of the architectural cabinetry, creating a dialogue between furniture and space.
Set against an industrial backdrop of raw concrete and vast windows, Arkos exudes a refined presence, balancing strength and delicacy. A testament to the art of Italian design, where form meets function in its most elevated expression.
